The hunt begins...

Got back today from the first day of apartment hunting. Jason and I went to four different places in Euclid, and one place in Mayfield Heights. Both of us were impressed with one of the places in Euclid (North Pointe Apts), but we are both leaning more toward Mayfield Heights, because it is a much nicer neighborhood. There are a ton of stores within walking distance from the apartment complex we went to in Mayfield Heights - everything from grocery stores to restaurants to clothing stores to electronics stores to music stores and everything else in between. Having Best Buy, Circuit City, Guitar Center, and Sam Ash Music stores nearby may be the death of me. Tongue out

After checking out the apartment in Mayfield Heights, we drove toward downtown Cleveland and ate dinner at the amazing B.D.'s Mongolian Barbeque (after taking a 30-minute "detour" through the campus of Case Western University), and then came home.

Because we are both leaning more toward Mayfield Heights, we plan to again go there next week to scope out a few other apartments. In theory, by the end of next week, we should know for certain where we will be living for at least the next year.

Things are beginning to get a little more exciting... I am looking forward to the prospects of (1) making REAL money at a REAL job, (2) not having ANY tests, projects, homework, or other school work, and (3) living in my own place. The best part for now: only 4 weeks until college graduation! Is it obvious yet that I am looking forward to the future...? Cool

Until next time, Ciao!

Patience...

New music will be forthcoming... please have patience and continue to bear with me.

At the moment, my main focus and concentration is on finishing my final semester at Youngstown State University. Graduation is on May 20; on June 5, I begin my new job as an electrical engineer at TEC, Inc. in Eastlake, OH.

As soon as I get settled in to the new apartment and get accustomed to the new surroundings and routine, I will resume work on the "new" album. I also have a few other projects lined up, and a few other recordings that still need to be completed. I anticipate having a lot of free time - especially as compared to my current schedule - so be looking forward to some new tunes!

Musically speaking, the future looks bright and exciting. I hope to soon further expand the recording studio and begin mixing the new music in 5.1 surround sound, as well as the traditional stereo format. Who knows - perhaps I will form a new incarnation of my old band Electric Shock and start performing live again. Only time will tell...

yeah so it's late...

It's nearly 2AM, and I am still wide awake. Imagine that. Tongue out

Not too much going on, aside from the usual. The robot is nearly complete - tomorrow is the robotics competition at YSU, and then this weekend we will be presenting it as part of the project showcase at the annual IEEE Region 2 conference in Philadelphia. Once this week is done, the rest of the semester *should* be straightforward, especially since the Senior Design course will be finished. My other 2 classes - Advanced Electronics and Signals & Systems - are pretty simple and have gone very well.

Next week, I hope to finally begin the apartment search, since the big move will be little more than a month away. I am a bit more nervous about everything as each day passes - mainly about the big changes that I will be facing. I do look forward to the new job, working with new people, and finally working within the electrical engineering field. I am also looking forward to actually having some free time to write and record new music - I have had the itch to play more and write more lately, but have not had the time to do so. Despite everything that I will be looking forward to, I will definitely miss everyone from home.

I recently bought a few new CDs that I am currently digging very much: Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime II, Lacuna Coil's Karmacode, and Evergrey's Monday Morning Apocalypse. While all three were just released yesterday, I actually had advance copies of the new Queensryche and Lacuna Coil albums - some pretty cool stuff.

Should try to get some sleep now - until next time, cheers!
